Mon Espace Créateur - Déja Vu - { My Creative Space - Déja Vu }

There doesn't seem to be an English equivalent of the French phrase Déja Vu, yet it's a feeling we've all experienced at some time. It's that eerie sensation that you've been here or seen that before. It's the feeling that often gives you goose bumps and causes you to turn around to check you're not being followed by a wispy figure muttering "woooo" under its breath.

Believe it or not but my creative space this week is enveloping me in that very same feeling. Some time ago (O.K. absolutely ages ago!!) I embarked on a knitting journey to conquer not only my deep seated fear of knitting but to overcome my inability to finish challenging projects. Well here it is....and no, it's not finished! Déja Vu again!!

It is my belief that déja vu is the universe's (insert whomever of whichever spiritual deity you subscribe to be it God, Buddha, Jehovah...or the mothership if you're a lounge jumping Tom Cruise type!) way of keeping us on track. Helping to remind us of promises made to ourselves, highlighting areas of our physche we may need to tweak a little...or just embrace and relish! It bids us to question, "I've been here before....when, why?".

This week I've rather uncomfortably been reminded of a creative and personal goal I set for myself...one which has been shelved as it was starting to feel a little raw and unnerving (kinda like pulling that straggly bit of cuticle too far!). But with a helping hand from Madam Déja Vu and the brilliant knitter extraordinaire, Kylie of Kylie's Crafts (as far as knitters go, they don't come any better....she is a marvel!!...and a gorgeous girl to boot) I have picked up the needles and am slowly clacking back on track. Off for a cup of tea now....mmmm, I'm sure I've been here before!

Good luck getting that knitting done Steph! You could always pop over and grab one of my "Round Tuits"!! I've got 'around to' some many things since I started using it!
Or "Deja vu" is another good kick up the bum way of looking at things! Either way, whatever works, it's good to push on and overcome those obstacles!!

Have a great day!

Perhaps some projects need to sit and marinate for a while? I have a few that fit into that category! I like the colour you are using, good luck & keep going!! xo

Cue the twilight zone music!!
Best thing for me about moving to Brisbane (apart from meeting you one day) will be having Kylie, my dear friend & fellow Army wife, teach me to knit & crochet!! Love Posie

I feel the same way about deja vu and the lessons learned from it. can't wait to see what you're knitting up... especially becausei am always looking for beginner-sih projects but am looking to do something other than a hat/booties/scarf. xx m.

I love the colour of that wool - what are you making, something for you or Bijou? Just perfect time of year to be clickity clacking your needles and having cups of tea. No need to have a fear of knitting - it looks great ;-)

Good on you for picking up the needles again Steph, I have still happily ignored my very large cross stitch in the back of my cupboard. Very pretty pink wool. xo

I'm with Beck on the "marination factor." There are some projects that just can't be finished in one fell swoop---and I'm about to tackle a pile of mine! Good luck, Steph..

I'm standing behind you cheering your finishing ... it looks so pretty you have to finish. I love moss stitch. It's my most favourite stitch. PS I know the English don't like to admit this but so much of English is French anyway ... imagine calling a doctor a leech (that is, if William hadn't conquered). So deja vu is now 'English' anyway.

Looking good:) Glad that we were able to sit down and nut out the pattern:) (not overly clear instructions for a beginner knitter)

Thanks for the lovely compliments:) You are a lovely Person too and so glad that I found you in the world of blogging.
