Feeling a whisker cocky after almost completing my first knitted garment sans mistakes I eagerly got cracking and cast on this yummy buttery yellow yarn for a little Kina for mon petit poppet.
It has a gorgeous gathered neckline with lots of increases. Lots...but not quite as many as I decided to incorporate (pattern creator extrodinaire that I am!). Mmmm....note to self...when the pattern says knit one, make one (increase), knit one, make one, repeat to end...it actually means this you great big twit...not make one, make one, make one etc.
Needless to say I had double the amount of stitches on my needles and was wondering why I was churning through the yarn and taking the age of the earth to knit a row. I was also starting to think all those knitting lasses out in blog land who wax lyrical about this pattern were not quite all there! Oh how those tables have turned.
SOOOO love whiling away my precious crafty time re-doing something I've stuffed up! Will I ever learn!!!!!! What has caused a crafty tantrum to rival a toddler's in the lolly aisle of the supermarket in your world of late?

Well, that makes two of us! I did exactly the same thing, and am now faces with a whole heap of unravelling to do. Not happy! I was up to the sleeve cast off too :( Let's hope our next attempt is a little more successful!
Oh dear... I am no knitter but you know what I just did??? I used my fancy fabric marker that is meant to fade, but I think I ironed it....so the bright purple marker is here to stay. I've popped said items in the wash on turbo cycle hoping that I haven't ruined a whole bunch of fabric that's supposed to heading to the Easter market!!!! Crafty tantrum followed!!! Much love to you and I love that buttery yellow yarn my dear xxx
Only your second garment? I think you're doing brilliantly. All part of being a knitter. What a gorgeous colour.
Haha, no tantrum here today but I did just realise on taking pictures of my crochet that instead of the white wool I thought I was using, I was using cream...unravel, unravel, unravel!
I'd so love to be a knitter; my grandmother taught me how when I was a little girl, but for the life of me, I have no idea what to do. The idea of knitting with soft yarn in lovely autumn colours, and dressing my little ones in things that I've made is pretty appealing; I think you've inspired me to give it a go!
(mistakes and all; isn't that just what being creative is all about?)
Love reading your posts, Steph - you're just so lovely :)

I confess to this happening to me more times than I care to count. On the weekend I tried 3 times to make me a pair of crochet slippers and I still haven't gotten it right :)

I'm battling my first knitting project. It feels like a foreign language right now. . .
